The Elaphite Islands

The history of Elaphite Islands is buried in its name as legend says that the name came from the Ancient Greek word meaning “deer”. Also, there are some interesting story linked to the name that Greeks used to hunt on this island and therefore named it so while some opine that Elaphite archipelago looks like a deer when viewed from sky.

This huge island encompasses small group of islands located in the  west of Dubrovnik along with three main inhabited islands named  Sipan, Lopud and Kolocep. They all are suitable for pleasant day trip as they have small bays – villages, beaches  and small islands limited architectural marvels along with caffes  and  varieties of delicious sea food  offered  by restaurants  to explore.
